Motorola XPR7550e UHF Portable Handheld DMR Two-Way Radio (403–512 MHz)
The Motorola XPR7550e UHF is a portable handheld DMR two-way radio – the full-keypad, color-display model in the MOTOTRBO XPR 7000e series. It runs 4W across 403–512 MHz with 1000 channels, IP68 protection, integrated GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Up to 28 hours of battery life and on-radio Work Order Ticketing make it suited to supervisors and multi-role workers across indoor industrial and campus operations.
Why Professionals Choose the Motorola XPR7550e UHF
The XPR7550e UHF is a portable handheld radio – 130 × 55 × 41 mm with the 3000mAh battery, 347g – with a full-color display and full keypad. It is the FKP (full-keypad) model in the MOTOTRBO XPR 7000e series, configured for shift supervisors, security operations managers, and facilities staff who manage multiple UHF teams across a plant or multi-building campus.
It transmits 4W (high) / 1W (low) across UHF 403–512 MHz, with 1000 channels and 12.5 kHz channel spacing (25 kHz is not available in the USA under FCC narrowbanding). Frequency stability is ±0.5 ppm. The radio operates in both DMR digital and legacy analog modes and supports IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus, and – on Enabled models – Capacity Max and Connect Plus.
IP68 (2 m / 2 hrs) and MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G are confirmed in the official Motorola XPR 7000e Series datasheet. A UL-approved intrinsically safe version (TIA-4950) is available for hazardous locations. Work Order Ticketing – exclusive to the FKP model – lets workers receive, acknowledge, and close job tickets on the display without a separate device. An integrated accelerometer supports optional Man Down.
Analog receiver sensitivity is 0.16 µV (12 dB SINAD); digital is 0.14 µV (5% BER). The IMPRES Li-Ion 3000mAh battery (PMNN4493) runs about 28 hours in digital mode (5-5-90); the 2100mAh PMNN4491 runs about 19 hours. Operating temperature is −30°C to +60°C. Bluetooth 4.0 (Class 2) and integrated Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) handle wireless audio and over-the-air updates; GPS gives under-5 m accuracy. FCC Part 90 certified (FCC ID AZ489FT7065).

FCC Licensing and Compliance Support
Operation of the Motorola XPR7550e UHF on licensed frequencies in the United States requires an FCC Part 90 license. This applies to commercial and industrial radio use across manufacturing plants, campuses, security operations, healthcare facilities, and public safety organizations on private licensed UHF frequencies in the 403–512 MHz band.
As an authorized Motorola dealer, AXDIGITAL assists customers throughout the licensing process – from selecting UHF frequencies compatible with existing infrastructure to preparing and submitting the FCC Part 90 application. For multi-site systems we coordinate frequency planning to prevent interference, and for hazardous-location deployments we confirm the correct UL/TIA-4950 configuration and IS battery. FAQ
What is the difference between the XPR7550e and the XPR7350e UHF?
Both are 4W UHF radios with identical TX/RX specs, IP68, and battery life. The XPR7350e is a no-display, no-keypad model with 32 channels – for workers on fixed channel assignments. The XPR7550e adds a color display, full keypad, 1000 channels, and Work Order Ticketing – for supervisors and coordinators who manage complex channel plans from the radio.
When do I need the UL (intrinsically safe) version?
The UL model is UL-approved to TIA-4950 for hazardous locations – Division 1 (Class I/II/III, Groups C–G) and Division 2 (Class I, Groups A–D). Choose it for oil & gas, mining, chemical, or grain-handling environments where flammable gas or dust may be present. The IS rating is valid only with a Motorola intrinsically safe battery.
What is the difference between Enabled and Capable models?
Both are full digital/analog radios. Capable supports Conventional, IP Site Connect, and Capacity Plus – sufficient for most fleets. Enabled adds Capacity Max and Connect Plus for large-scale trunking. Both SKUs on this page (AAH56RDN9RA1AN and its UL version) are Enabled. Contact us to confirm which aligns with your system.
