In schools, warehouses and retail stores, one radio often serves two or three users across shifts. An all-in-one earpiece kit then passes from ear to ear. When the earpiece wears out, the whole kit with its PTT button and microphone goes in the trash. Both issues come from joining the part that touches the ear to the part that controls the radio.
The EH-01 separates them. It carries only the speaker. The PTT button and microphone sit on the ACM-01 cable, which stays with the radio. Each user can keep a personal EH-01 and plug it into the shared cable at the start of the shift. A worn earpiece is replaced on its own, without replacing the cable.
A C-shaped ear hook holds the EH-01 securely in place. The earpiece sits just outside the ear canal, allowing the user to remain aware of ambient sounds. Additionally, the detachable silicone earpiece can be rotated for use on either the left or right ear.
The EH-01 is designed for use with Hytera portable radios in the PD4, BD5, BD6, and TC5 series — specifically models such as the BD502i, BD552i, BD612i, PD362i, PD402i, TC508, and others. Is the EH-01 compatible with other brands using the same connector?
Hytera lists the EH-01 only with its own PTT/MIC cables. Some dealers describe it as usable with any radio or cable that has a 3.5 mm listen-only jack. Hytera does not confirm this. Speaker impedance and plug wiring vary between brands, so volume and fit may differ. For non-Hytera radios, order a receive-only earpiece specified by that manufacturer.
Can the EH-01 be used only with the ACM-01, or are there other options?
The ACM-01 is one of four Hytera PTT/MIC cables listed for the EH-01. The choice depends on the radio's accessory connector. ACM-01 fits radios with a 2-pin connector, such as the BD502i and PD402i. ACS-01 fits the 1-pin BD302i and PD362i. ACN-02P fits H-Series handhelds with a 13-pin connector. ACN-01 fits End of Life PD7 and PD9 radios. The same EH-01 works with any of them.
