When a repeater site or base station loses utility power, the whole coverage cell goes silent — not one radio, but every user on that channel. That is the failure the PS22002 is built to prevent. It runs the fixed-site equipment from mains and, the moment the line drops, switches to a connected lead-acid battery without interrupting the DC feed, so dispatch keeps talking while a facility rides out an outage.

The device outputs a stabilized DC voltage of 13.8 V at currents up to 16 A, with a total power output of 220 W. The PS22002 supports a wide input voltage range of 90–264 V AC, allowing it to be used in North American power grids and at mixed-voltage sites without additional configuration. Measuring 11.7 × 6.9 × 3.4 inches and weighing approximately 14.3 pounds, the unit can be mounted on a rack shelf or placed on a desk. The Power Supply can handle the continuous-duty loads typical of MD Series mobile devices and RD Series repeaters operating as base stations.
